She now rakes in more than $170,000 per year, which she gets from product endorsements and merchandise sales, all of it fueled by her social-media account, according to the Post.

Not long after she created her Instagram page, she received 20,000 followers. Seven months later she was up to 100,000 after she started posting consistently.

'A lot of my fans are college-aged guys, so I definitely make products [targeted at] them,' she said.

Ratchford said she once she signed with a manager, videographers began referring her to brands that work with social-media influencers.



'For every million [followers], you can charge up to $1,500 a post,' she said. But now that she has almost eight million followers, brands typically cap the fee at about $6,000 per post.
