She struck lightening in a bottle with her first album. Perfect combination of timing, putting out the right singles, working with the right writers, dropping before COVID and the shift in the industry/consumption of music.

She got extremely rich and famous off that album and can basically live off the success of it forever. Did anyone really think Cardi B was going to down as one of the better female rappers? :stopitslime: She not a spitter like that and the album dropped 6 years ago. She’ll release one more album and then continue to do fashion, movies and TV and tour her singles the rest of her life
Yeah, she doesn't wanna work and tbh I wouldn't either if I was her.

Let me go 4x n brick up my bank accounts to only dreamt of heights.

You think I wanna do the rapper song n dance for the foreseeable future? Nah, I wanna chill, invest n chill some more.

Find me a dumb thick nerdy chick(asscrack always peeking out kinda thick, you know some girl like this already), have some smart babies n just lay low and follow my passions.

Build a modular house in NC on a nice 1.5 acre plot, and watch the sunset with one hand gripping a meaty cheek.

It's her own fault. She should've dropped after WAP and UP were everywhere. She's so shook and now it's dwindling results.

In comparison, Megan has dropped 2 albums and 4 mixtapes in that time. Doja has released 3 albums, Flo Milli 2 or 3 projects, Glorilla 2 projects and Latto multiple projects.

She needs to just transition out of music but I'm sure Atlantic wants a return on the money they've invested into this rollout thus far.

She’s not a real artist she’s a social media figure with a record deal. No matter how big the initial success or whatever team of writers/producers you have, anybody with a brain knew it wasnt a sustainable music career.

All it takes is another younger socialite to pop off and the label will just carry over those writing/production resources to the next thot with a large following. Rinse & Repeat.
I mean...that's virtually every female rapper right now except for Nicki and maybe Meg. I just felt like the spectacle of Cardi was strong enough to keep going.

Her streams are falling btw. At one point she was over 40mil. Now she's at 31mil monthly listeners on Spotify

She was never talented enough to have longevity musically. As an influencer that's another story.

y'all gotta stop treating the Spanish speaking market as if it's one giant cheat code.

even if she dropped a Spanish language album, she'd still have to drop an album.
What? Who said it was a cheat code? I just think there’s a bigger lane to take over as a female rapper catering to LatAm vs the crowded American female rap market
