The industry is still great, long haul has slowed down a little bit between Canada and america at the border because of trumps fukkery but thats about it. you can make $1500 a day driving your own dump truck right now and thats Canadian dollars, the industry is still fine for another 200 years:russell::unimpressed:

And they are paying two people to be with it. A safety driver and an engineer. It's testing. All of those trucks will still have to have a guy on them no matter how advanced they get.

So you mean you're going to pay me to sit here and diddle on my phone while this truck takes me to the next city? OK

Exactly

AT LEAST. breh.

this trucking shyt is more laws, policies, rules, regulations and bureaucracy more than actual trucking itself, especially in north america since your dealing with governing bodies between Mexico, America and Canada...

so many things will have to be changed.....

-fuel agreements (this is a HUGEEEEEE one, the international fuel tax agreenement (IFTA) between all 3 countries is already complicated as it is. that wont see a lick of adjustment for at least 12 years itself.
-safety standards
-trade agreements
- International Registration Plan (IRP), this is basically a permit drive your truck outside of your country and drive to another country. this is a big one. this one would take like 25 years to alter.
-accountability, this is a big one too. if a self-driving truck was to kill people on the road theres no accountability. deliberations for a self-driving truck accident is unprecedented so their going to have to change the laws and insurance policies to accommodate this. this is gonna take at least 40 years

i could go on but you should get the point already.

the way the system is running right now.... everyone is still making too much money, especially the oil and fuel industry. this will not be a gradual change. :unimpressed:
