Thank God. Robots need to get all these non driving mofos out the paint with their shyt reflexes, bad eyesight, and mayfly attention spans. 40k die a year on the roads, machines can't do any worse.

And they are paying two people to be with it. A safety driver and an engineer. It's testing. All of those trucks will still have to have a guy on them no matter how advanced they get.

So you mean you're going to pay me to sit here and diddle on my phone while this truck takes me to the next city? OK
The pay will be minimum wage

Most are saving their money looking for the next opportunity anyway. That's the way anybody in any situation in life should be doing anyway.

^^^^look at the above post.

I don't believe most of you recognize what all goes into logistics. It's not just driving. There are many more opportunities. Brehs out here stacking up, and you're worried about their pockets???

Different types of jobs are being created, so a smart person will see that and transition along with it. But at this point it's not even 5 years away from being a factor in most people's lives. Probably not even 10. They were talking about this 2 years ago when I started driving and still haven't moved out of the here and there testing phases. There's still lot's of freight that needs to be seperated at the loading and delivery points. There's hazmat loads that need a person making sure it's secure while traveling over the roadways. All types of jobs that need people in place. The logistics field will not run out of jobs. The older guys running these companies don't want the stress of having to watch over fully automated vehicles. One wreck could cripple most of these companies if it happened in the right location. So maybe you start seeing more of this in the 2030s when millenials start taking full control of most companies.

The industry is still great, long haul has slowed down a little bit between Canada and america at the border because of trumps fukkery but thats about it. you can make $1500 a day driving your own dump truck right now and thats Canadian dollars, the industry is still fine for another 200 years:russell::unimpressed:
