Well anyway, the same logic still applies. It won't be a completely independent entity.

Oh yeah, and I forgot. Somebody has to unload the stuff when it gets to where it's going. That falls on the driver more than people think.

THAT'S THE POINT. YOU JUST PAY A MAN TO LIVE IN THE TRUCK AND UNLOAD AT STOPS. THE CDL WON'T BE NECESSARY AT THAT POINT.

There will be some training/certification. A person with hazmat certification has to be with hazardous loads. The point is jobs are still there to be had. Anyway, it won't happen anytime soon. Like I said, they will just use them as fill-ins at first more than likely. Trucking companies are run by older guys who are not quick about advancing in technology.

You got a while. There's so much pent up demand right now. And automation won't replace all of you. City driving will still be all human for forseeable future.

The Volvo unit cannot replace an OTR truck and it isn't possible.

Tesla truck still will have a human on it.

When a fully automated truck crashes a hazmat load into a daycare and levels a block, don't say you weren't warned

The adoption for this tech is well under way. my prediction is 2025. it wont happen all at once, but it will be very tough to get a high paying job in transportation overall.

Uber and Lyft are already testing 3rd party autonomous driving cars to replace the manual drivers.

They’re dying to make it happen and they’re trying to condition people to accept it and the inevitable legal immunity they’re going to push on Congress.
