A) The judge didn't ether him. Not once did he talk down on him
B) It seemed like the judge was extremely reasonable and actually cared.
C) He said he'd check up on him every 5 days
D) He just said he'd keep him detained. Possibly until he's 19 but it seemed like the Judge wasn't trying to do that.

The judge was actually fair. He got 7 years in juvenile detention where he could leave with his education, trade, and skills to be productive. His household isn't stable and this provides the stability he needs.
