He has a fanabse and is still relevant amongst the younger audience who will support you. His last album which didnt have that much promo in the lead up and still sold a lot proved that.

So I dont know why he's sweating

stop being smart dumb, radio's been like this for as long as i can remember. yall know what kind of songs get played, what artists generally get spins, and who the radio fanbase is. i know why the trinidad james song is blowing up radio, and i know why cudi's is not. this demand you speak of quantified by youtube views and itunes sales is just speculation

:scusthov: at all the "he's simply" "he wants" words you're putting in his mouth to :cape:. let me do the same. he just wants attention. he just wants to be what people are talking about again because he feels people have forgotten about him

lastly, i hate when artists complain about something like radio. you wanna get on the radio, make some shyt like pursuit of happiness using mgmt again or sample lady gaga or do a single with drake.

i'm also a casual fan checking for the new album, just in case you were wondering :youngsabo:

:russ: @ "smart dumb", good one homie :salute:

You're partly right though, I do know what kind of songs get played, and what artists generally get spins, but Who are the people setting these standards and saying it's ok for Trinidad James to be "blowing up radio", and it's ok for Kid Cudi not to? Shouldn't it be up to the people? Of course it isn't up to the people now, but shouldn't it be? We could just go with the flow and say you know what "radio's been like this for as long as i can remember", but does that mean when a artist who deals with the politics of the industry daily speaks out about it we should tell him to stay in his little box because it's been like this for as long as we can remember? What is a radio record? That's like saying someone like Shawn Marion for example has almost everything it takes to be a professional baller, but he doesn't have a "NBA form", so therfore he should have just accepted having a college career and moved on before exploring the option of going to the NBA. Can he not perform at a high level? Can he not be an asset for professional team? If he can then fukk the standards just let him ball! He atleast deserves a shot!

I also partly agree with you when you say: "he just wants attention", but is that so wrong? He is a entertainer and last time I checked that's how they make their living. Besides, the people he wants attention from are the radio programmers because clearly the "stats" that he quoted are a indication that he's getting a nice amount of attention from the fans. It's the radios JOB to play relevant music. I feel him because If there's more territory to conquer why not try to conquer it? It's not like he's a new artist. He's paid his dues and wants to take his career to another level. He knows the type of people who listens to radio religiously and he's aware that they wouldn't normally be checking for him, but maybe if it were presented to them they may be converted into new fans. Is that so self centered of him?

i use xm radio right now, and it's got some of the same problems as regular radio (just the playlist aspect of it).

ideally, if i ran radio fans would have to vote on a playlist online. BUT dont be surprised if it's the same songs that are on the mainstream commercial radio right now :shaq:

also, i'm throwing this out there and we could do a poll on just the coli about which song are you tryna hear more if AGE isn't already played out? cudi's "just what i am" or trinidad james "all gold everything"

i have a feeling trini would win or lose by very little :lolbron: and i think he would win if you asked a good portion of the demographic listening to mainstream public radio

all i'm really saying is radio got a lot of problems, but i'm not about to get fukking outraged cause cudi aint getting his spins. :childplease:

deserving hundreds came before him and didn't get play, hundreds will come after him. i personally feel game got at least 5-6 records on the new album that could be on the fukking radio - good songs that are tailormade. i don't listen to like the 95.5s or 93.9s like i used to, but i doubt he's on there either (and five years ago he had like 5 songs in rotation non-stop)

i got love for what u sayin, but forget cudi getting mad over all this
