I think he got dropped from roc nation management and was indepdent at the time 2 cause it was some years ago.

Bruh I’m trying to find this show you’re talking about

It says he OMB Peezy, and SOB x RBE sold out a show in the studio in Webster Hall which is a 400 person capacity years ago

That’s less capacity than the Racket and she’s the only rapper on the bill

there's plenty of New York artists doing their thing, major platforms, making good music but no one NEW is putting up numbers and crossing over except for Ice Spice
Ice Spice is the only newish star hip hop has produced last 3 years

yea that was the one.....you see what im saying tho......alll of those artists are regional as fukk with a much smaller push and I guarantee none of their monthly listeners can compete with anybody you talking about. Prolly less than anyone from the D cause thats a way bigger scene.

I'm just saying "Monthly Listeners" doesn't really paint an accurate picture.

Ice spice is in superbowl commercials and was opening up for Doja cat when I seen her last year. shyt was still empty when she was performing. What are her #s? prolly massive.

If you some big time NYC artist and you can't even put over a thousand asses in the seat in your hometown how big are you really?

Hate the anti-NY pessimism Perico ain’t fukking with Lola Brooke just off the strength she caught one…he most def ain’t fukking with Sheff G and I could name a bunch of others

As for Ice Spice that was last year when she had 3 songs out

The music industry is Fugazi is what I'm getting at.

Record companies literally have computer farms and cheat the system to boost streams.

I'm not the smartest guy; but if you have CRAZY streaming #s and can't get people to come to your concert.....it doesn't seem real 2 me.

A lot of people blow up and get love OUTSIDE of their home town first for whatever reason.

But if you have people with millions of monthly listeners who can't put a thousand asses seats in the nation anywhere the math aint matching.

Its a Byrd you can't cook.

A lot of "independent" and regional acts are really killing shyt and don't have major label support or the backing.

I've seen big KRIT twice in NYC and it was brazy.

I don't think I've ever heard a KRIT record on the radio in NYC a day in my lyfe.

Bad Bunny does stadiums in NYC.

Your live show really is the most accurate way to measure where you're really at; not fake streaming #s and "DJs" who work for payola.

The harsh reality is there isn't one "new" NYC rapper who can't sell out a big boy venue dolo; despite being "platinum" streaming status.

Yes the game is fugazi but that doesn’t mean that G Perico is more popular than Lola Brooke

Lola Brooke has 1.3M monthly streams the majority of her monthly streams come from people playing Don’t Play With It

Off the strength of her having a hit record she is more popular and nationally known than G Perico and that was a slow burn record

Fact of the matter is G Perico is a niche artist who doesn’t get a lot of local support which is why his YT and Spotify #’s can’t even match local unsigned drill rappers from here

The city don’t even really Jack this kid like that but he sold out the Roxy in LA, a bigger venue than what G Perico performed in NYC dolo and he’s only 16

What’s a big venue to you?

A boogie and Lil Tjay touring the world most artists in their generation are not in position to do that

A boogie sold out Barclays

U said there was no “new” rapper that could.

A boogie sold out Barclays he’s “new school”

I’m not sure why ya keep gassing Lola Brooke or acting like she was supposed to have next. 600 person venue is what she should be doing.

She ain’t a star she ain’t Cardi B, she ain’t Ice Spice, she ain’t Nicki…she just one of the dozen girls in NYC rap scene
