And they have so much content that don't use. Just play the same ole stuff.

Bullsh*t.. NBA fans are starving out here. People want to enforce that narrative that there's no die hards for the NBA but in reality its an under-served-neglected community that wants to hear serious hoops being discussed on a daily bases if possible. We don't want to wake up in the morning to hear about Tom Brady, Payton Manning and the Cowboys every single minute, we want to hear about the NBA with the new low key cores, the hot/cold teams, new rooks ballin', MVP races, etc.
"Build it and they will come". NBA TV needs to adapt this mantra. Even so there is no reason whatsoever that they don't have- at worst- a 30 minute Around The Horn show every morning during the regular season. I don't care what you or anybody has to say. That's 'programming 101' for any sports channel no matter their budget these days.

You're a baseball head and you're fine with the way NBA TV does things. You don't give a sh*t either way. Sorry but I'm not content. And f*ck podcasts and all the other niche internet shows. You sound like someone from ESPN.. "They just want the NFL and that's what we're going to give them". I"m in LA and its NBA out here not just a bunch of random casuals jockin' where ever LeBron plays. NBA TV needs to step it up point blank, I don't even care if they go the trendy route starting off.. Just step it up in the programming for a change. Please stop speaking for everybody else. I love the glossy cutting edge MLB Network just as much as the next guy.. is it so bad that I wish NBA TV could at least follow their lead add something worth while to their slate? They're served... by podcasts, their little individual SBNation sites and online. They're not exactly running to TV to get their fix. By and large, NBA fans mostly consist of casuals who bandwagon squad to squad, root for the usuals, and mostly wanna get to the playoffs because that's when shyt really gets hype. What appeals to the other three sports is the randomness that keeps most if not all teams involved. Even if your team sucks, you can be in on it just by playing spoiler. The NBA doesn't give you that kind of intrigue; thus, you can drift in and out and feel like you didn't miss much and if you're a die hard, podcasts are there for you. These little sites where die hards convene are there.
The thought of talking advanced stats would drive y'all nuts. What do you think hardcore fans would get into?
It would be 30 minutes of LeBron, Curry, Harden, Davis, the Spurs, playoff previews in November and the fukkery play of the night. Even if that's not what you're asking for, that's what the show would become to get people to watch it. For the shyt The Starters get around here, they talk hoops.
There are ways to expand coverage no doubt, but the NBA has to want to be like the other networks even if means going in depth about shyt they otherwise don't care about themselves and I don't think they're willing to do that yet.
I hate those 4 canadianhipster cornballs.

Not sure I agree w/ all of this...but this is a good point. They're served... by podcasts, their little individual SBNation sites and online. They're not exactly running to TV to get their fix. If I wanna see how Jahlil Okafor or Karl Towns did putting in work, I'm gonna watch FreeDawkins clips on YouTube. Well you're lumping all basketball fans in as one so lets lets keeps the generalizations going across the board. What if I generalize all baseball fans as wanting to see nothing but nostalgia and old footage of past greats- say an "Open Court" type of show on MLB Network should be the only show they need and NBA TV should have all the rest of their programming. But I'm not trying to lump all baseball heads into one category.. "The fix" should be front and center on a network that calls itself NBA Television. I shouldn't have to scour the net for a NBA podcast to fill a void. Podcasts should complement NBA TV.I'm actually not. I don't see how you come to that conclusion based on what i said. I'm saying whatever fix I need I get elsewhere. If anything let the NBA throw everything against the wall and see what sticks, but if Turner can't do it, then who are you expecting to do it?
The NBA should do way more with international coverage than what they do. I'd be trying to get people up on some of these overseas guys so that when they get drafted you're not likeNot sure I agree w/ all of this...but this is a good point.
Ive been reading up on Advanced Basketball stats...and that is a whole different type of basketball fan...not one I see on here.
Nba channel would probably be good to have a show that talks about advanced stats...that would bring a lot of eyes...especially seeing how the advancement of basketball stats is bringing a lot of new fans to the game.
Youre right in how NBA is different than say Baseball where a large portion of the outcome of the game is due to variance...but that can be a plus to basketball.
Sports geeks love all the stats and averages involved in basketball...you can do a lot with that information.
Add to the fact that Basketball has a huge global pull...The NBA channel really should be as good as NFL network.

Well baseball is very regional and some of the movements aren't even newsworthy half the time for people in different markets but i will say that MLB Network is top of the line no doubt about it. NBA TV on the other hand is simply lazy. There is no excuse for how they present that channel with their bare bones programming and ancient graphics and visuals.MLB Network gives you that. Much of their early programming was just them showing off their extensive library. But then MLB Network will show you Fall League, Caribbean World Series, anything with a baseball, they would show it. That's all their personalities wanna get into. They have have exclusives to shyt that other networks have to share. The NBA can't even keep Woj from ruining their drafts. Each network has their own insiders that bring footage you can only get there first. The NBA on TV will always have an information disadvantage as long as Yahoo keeps kicking their asses
