First off that shyt is real.

From what I've seen silencers don't really "silence" shyt.
What you hear is the sound of the bullet making a sonic crack as it goes supersonic. (1100 fps +/-) on the right gun with subsonic ammo its pretty damn quiet. I've shot my .22 pistol in the ground on the passenger side of a parked truck and people standing on the other side never knew it. My ar-15 yea its still loud but it takes it from ear ringing deafening to being able to shoot it without ear plugs.

aren't there laws against silencers?
Kinda. Some states dont allow them but most do. They're class 3 items which have to be bought from a class 3 dealer. Fill out a good bit of paper work, fingerprints, chief law enforcement officer of your county has to sign off on it. Then they send that to the ATF for approval and pay $200 tax stamp. Takes 9-14 months for the paperwork to go through these days.
