Family Guy is funny but it's surface level low brow comedy.
Not that South Park is "high brow humor" but it's a more thorough comedy with a message behind it. There's more complexity to it, even though it's interspersed between juvenile shyt.

i just watched 'the losing edge' yesterday. one of the GOAT episodes imo. "prepare to be bat-dadded!"
Their biggest gift/curse was the fact that they lowered their episode turnaround time from a few months/weeks to 5-6 days, so the show became WAY too topical and in-the-now.
