Drake hopes on a hot song with mad potential - the song gets bigger = A stimulus package huh?

Really that's the Jay Z "stay relevant" package. Drake has perfected it. Can I Get A.... ended up officially as a Jay song but Ja Rule wrote it originally including hook.

A real stimulus package is when you give a dude a hit, a hook, a beat from your main producer for someone else and that becomes a hit. That's Twista Slow Jamz or Overnight Celebrity with the Kanye stimulus package. The dozen or so hooks Wayne wrote for others during his run think "Duffle Bag Boyz" etc.

Drake is jumping on records, just rapping a verse, in the same flow and cadence as the original and that's a stimulus package :heh: you guys are easily impressed.

Tell you something, Drake hopes on records - early.
I can see your point. I think the thing that makes it slightly different is Drake jumps on unknown artist records (yeah I'm sure some people heard of iLoveMakonnen Future or The Migos...but I sure as hell didn't), Where as Jay only jumps on a already hot record or an artist who already had generated their own buzz.

I can definitely agree with the Drake just adds a verse to the already made song in it's previously made flow. I think the thing that truly make it a stimulus package is he's gonna bring light to your song but he's also gonna bring light to you as an artist because he's gonna be in the video, where as Jay's not gonna be in your video...in fact your probably not even gonna have a video PERIOD. Yeah I know theirs exceptions like "What We Do", that's few and far between. I don't think he's shytting on them either, I remember Dame once saying (when asked about Jay being an actor) Jay doesn't even like being in his own videos.

I understand most people had not heard those songs before Drake hopped on em but they where all making noise. I first heard that Tuesday joint on a Spotify playlist from Pigeons and Planes a blog owned by Complex. These aren't unknown songs they just had not become hits.

If Drake hopped on Dej Loaf joint and that charted super high a lot of you would be gassed but dudes just bringing his name to the record which will earn it extra spins but it won't 'create' the record. He brings nothing to these records except his name. Dude is taking flows and cadences - I can't give him props for that. Now he legitimately gave Asap Rocky a stimulus package. Or Ross with that Aston Martin joint, those are Drake songs.

To me a stimulus package is what Wayne have Playaz Circle for Duffle Bag Boiz, what Kanye did for Twista's Kamikaze album and Be, what 50 did for the singles off The Documentary. This is just like when Jay hopped on that Indian Knight Rider joint or Kanye on I Don't Like...
