I had a friend this happened to. Threw a birthday party at a piano bar. Had around 20 people RSVP that they were coming. Me and him weren't super close so I didn't want to show up too early and be stuck talking to him for so long so showed up 15 minutes late. Dude was at a table alone looking distraught. He showed me his phone and it was just excuse after another of people backing out last minute. Four other people end up shwoing up. I ended up showing him a good time and he ended up having fun but I felt so damn sorry for dude.

Men have no business throwing bday bashes.
