He was a friend of a bunch of my friends so we really only knew of each other at a surface level. I'm admittedly socially awkward so hate getting in one on one convos with people I don't know all that well.

Funny thing is the next year he did a birthday dinner. About 8 people showed up. After the dinner he wanted to keep the night going and everybody else said they were heading home. I was meeting some friends out to go bar hopping and invited him along. He hit it off with one of my friends and ended up marrying her. I personally felt bad for introducing them cause she did dude dirty.

A week or two after that initial meeting they had their first date. Later that night she participated in a mini orgy where she hooked up with two women and two dudes. Later cheated on him and they got divorced.

Well, salute to you for even trying to be sociable with him. Is he socially awkward as well? Is he an obnoxious person?

I don't invite ppl over or stage parties because of a deep rooted fear of ppl now showing up.

But, I have have family functions doe family members and my house was packed for those functions.

Last year, for my born day, I was trying to have my Mom and my lady's parents meet & greet at a Mexican restaurant.

That day, my Mom told me that she was sick and wasn't able to come. Cool. So, I thought that me, my lady and possibly her folks would show up. Turned out, my lad had her folks, some of her siblings and a niece show up. I was pleasantly shocked! So, we all had a pleasant time eating. They came with and born day .

This Super bowl, my lady wanted me to host a small function. I invited Mom, but didn't invite anyone else. My lady invited her ppls and her folks asked me if it was cool of her folks friends could come.

My lady was there, her parents, her parent's friends and my Mom came. Our parents met. My lady's siblings couldn't come. But, my Mom wanted some of our relatives to come over.

I said that they aren't gonna show up, but if she wanna invite them, then cool. They didn't show up. No harm no foul..

The function went on and it was nice.

Moral of the story..

Iish happens. Not all of us are social s..

Just one reason why I don't wanna go to functions. Prefer to be with ppl who wanna be around me. Otherwise, rather do my own thing OE hang out with the lady, her grown kids, Moms or whoever wanna function..

I'm the same way about not wanting to host events because I know too many flaky people. My fam is actually good about showing up but they live all across the country. As I've gotten older learn to appreciate the people that will actually show up.

I went out with a woman like this, she had like 1,500 Facebook friends and all these D9 sorority and fraternity associates and in some professional associations, but on her birthday no one got her any gifts and no one visited to her house or took her anywhere for lunch dinner or drinks.
