If we're being real here the only reason this thing is still getting talked about is because it says Xbox in the name. If it came out and was just called the ROG Ally X 2 the industry would have already moved on to something else. The ROG Ally thread went around 9 months without a single post from December 2024 to September 2025. The MSI Claw thread is going on 2 years soon without a post. The Lenovo Legion Go hasn't had a post in going on a year in December. Just this thread in a 5 days has over 60% of the total post count from the ROG Ally thread from 2 years and 5 months ago.

Asus accomplished what they set out to do. I doubt it adds up to more sales in a meaningful way but it's better to be debated than forgotten. These things are niche devices with a limited appeal. Even on YouTube there's way more people reviewing and talking about this one than the original.

Aside from Stan Warz, an Xbox branded handheld which doesn't natively have access to the Xbox console library is already an uphill decision to make and rightfully should be talked about.

Getting the best of both worlds in the Xbox split is going to be cloud reliant, which means extra money from the consumer going into a hampered experience by performance, wait times, and/or ads.

We live in an age where information is easily and instantly available and you can easily inform yourself before a purchase.

A simple Google search would tell that buyer he couldn't do that. People are lazy and stupid and anyone that does that deserves to be separated from their $1000.

I was keeping up with this shyt and own the og ally and i didnt know that. thank god that was mentioned because i play castlevania hd and other games not on gamepass exclusively on my xbox i bought on 360 years ago and would be the main of several reason i would even upgrade to this.

Which is why I was exposing @The Mad Titan walnut head ass as just being an obnoxious stan as the very thing he's "excited" about has already existed in literally the same form factor with literally the only difference being the logo. It's the biggest example of someone literally being a stan for something just because of the brand. The discussion around this product at least on here is primarily stan driven.

And maybe you'd have a point if I was either super hype for the Rog or already had one of the other handhelds, or gaming laptop. Instead you don't understand why someone in the Xbox ecosystem that is an big user of gamepass and lately play anywhere would buy the latest device that directly supports those things in a way the others don't.
