TV shows feel like the kiss of death for a lot of actors.
Once you get on a strong hit show that lasts a few years, it's really difficult to duplicate that success. Lots of actors have that 5 to 7 year run and then fade from the limelight.
You have to make moves during the shows run and then capitalize to parlay that into greater acclaim.....basically you need movie star looks. Big screen and TV screen a very different in this regard.
Actors take shows because multiple seasons = multiple years of work unless your character gets nixed, even shytty shows get multiple seasons so it's a safe bet at the beginning of your rise, and the pay is pretty good even for terrible shows
Movies dont guarantee anything, the shyt might not even come out, I worked on a comic book one a couple years ago and it still hasnt dropped yet, those actors still waiting on the marketing and promotion benefits of it, until then, it gives the impression that they havent been working
6 month show with multiple seasons at average pay vs 3 month movie but the pay is a dice roll at the beginning of your career
