It’s pretty obvious it was not a special. It’s an acceptance speech.

This is not rocket science, but I see the usual haters are in here salivating over clickbait titles. Meanwhile, Dave was nominated for two Emmy’s for his last $20 million special. :heh:

And btw, Damon Wayans is an all time great and he needs to put out a special.

They are very clearly defined as speeches. If you can’t tell the difference then you aren’t intelligent enough to enjoy either of them in the first place. Tell Richard Pryor, Paul Mooney, George Carlin and dikk Gregory that you can’t tell if they’re comedians.

Dave is interesting enough that any dialogue he gives gets enough attention to warrant production. Damon hating that he not on that level.

Isn't his latest special an actual speech anyway? That's the main reason I haven't really jumped to watch it. I will eventually

Us humans find a reason to be offended by anything. The obvious aside, who cares what Damon Wayans thinks about Chappelles brand of comedy. Judgement should be reserved from the cat who did a movie like Major Payne but blessed us with My Wife and Kids. Chappelles legacy can be looked at the same as his. I loved the Chappelle Show and thought it was hilarious in my 20s but wouldn’t be caught dead watching that shyt now. I’d watch Dave lecture about the ills of society though because that’s where I’m at right now.

I'm not disputing that. But this seems like an attempt to keep his name out there, instead of actually releasing projects.

Might possibly be some envy mangled into his statement. It happens. But what Dave is currently doing is nothing new. He's getting old and he can't keep going with the same 30-40 year old comedy skit. I've seen the last Martin Lawrence stand up 5 years ago and it was cringe worthy. He's to old to be carrying on like the old Martin.

Its called growth. Im loving his growth as a comedian and individual. I love comedy for its many styles and angles. Chappelle is in his George Carlin bag right now. Calling out the bullshyt of our times.

Who's checking for any Wayans standup?? Love they family and what theyve contributed to black entertainment.

But he’s nowhere near as funny as Carlin (at this point in their careers) and he not really saying shyt by attacking LGBTQ shyt. nikkas don’t care about the shyt like that but his white friends do. Carlin even spoke on comedians doing what Dave doing by “punching down” and going after gays.

“I would defend to the death his right to do everything he does. The thing that I find unusual, and it’s, you know, not a criticism so much, but his targets are underdog. And comedy traditionally has picked on people in power, people who abuse their power. Women and gays and immigrants are kind of, to my way of thinking, underdog. And, you know, he ought to be careful, because he’s Jewish. And a lot of people who want to pick on these kind of groups, the Jews are on that list. A little further you’ve got women, gays, gypsies and boom, boom, boom, and suddenly you find the Jews.”

When King asked Carlin about Clay’s appeal:

“I think his core audience are young, white males who are threatened by these groups. I think a lot of these guys aren’t sure of their manhood, because that’s a problem when you’re going through adolescence. You know, ‘Am I really, could I be, I hope I’m not one of them.’ And the women who assert themselves and are competent are a threat to these men, and so are immigrants in terms of jobs.”

Dave still a GOAT and blessed us for years with comedic gold but nothing wrong with saying he fell off or not nearly as funny as he used to be. He in his 50s and rich as fukk.

Edit : why my shyt crossed out? :francis:
