Yeah I doubt guys that almost die every fight and only make money on one or two would ever get the idea to gamble

KKKash Patels FBI still goin after gambling?
maybe if it were Bellator or WSOF. He ain't trying to miss his opps to go chill cage side at UFC events with his girl. Judging/stoppages etc. I just always feel like there are some questionable calls that completely fukked up bettors. Like I forget that one boxing/mma judge that just be having wild ass scores like completely off the wall for the fight that just happened.

MMA fighters would be easier targets for sports betting than most athletes. If you’re making $50k for a fight and you have bills stacking up, it would be hard to turn down an extra $70k. No other high profile athletes are really in a similar situation.

Not sure what it’s like today but I remember a few years back there were fighters making 10K

Americans bet 150B dollars last year legally.

Who would think a degenerate habit as part of a multi-billion sports league that pays main card fighters 70k if they win would lead to taking dives.

Yeah, a lot of lower level prelim fighters and newly signed guys are still on 10k/10k deals. They get $10k to show up for the fight, and another $10k to win.
And then taxes and paying their cornermen and probably a hospital visit too

I mean don't these folks get like 50k for a fight?

Yea but they have to fund their own camp, pay trainers etc.
a lot of these mid tier fighters break even as I understand it. and heavily pursue sponsorships for that reason
