Paulie's defensive stance looks exactly like Floyd. They probably told Paulie to mimic Floyd while Conor could practiced getting shots in.

Now Dana releases heavily edited clips to make it seem like Conor was beating Paulie's ass.

Floyd doesn't stand in the middle of the ring with that stance tho. Only against the ropes.
