their model would ruin our prospects, we don't want it.

Go ask any one who manages mma fighters how they feel about the grooming process of young fighters. Go ask them how many promising fighters have they seen ruined. We get it in boxing as well but ours are a lot of guys doing it to themselves instead of their promoters just tossing them into "sink or swim" situations before they are ready and ruining them in the process.

100%. PBC was created to be sold, and the rumors of PBC being up for sale have heated up over this past year. I've even heard that Haymon doesn't have a real interest in sticking around in boxing like King or Arum.

Speak on this.

The fact that pbc is funded by “investors” I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the play all along
We don’t really know the details of all the money Haymon initially got from them
Would be crazy if Haymon sold pbc for like a billion.....then stayed on as a manager for all the pbc fighters
Haymon proved me wrong, never sold the business
Whether or not that was the smart thing to do time will tell I guess

they dont even have a stable for Zuffa to inherit unless technically the remaining aged fighters + Fundora + Benevidez + Morrell would be getting the good pay days (which are still far less than your Canelo/Tank types) and then they fill in the meat of the roster with the new blood.

yea I don't see PBC as an attractive asset anymore, probably worth a fraction of what it could have been sold for when I originally made that post (2019)
Perfect time for Haymon to get out of the business probably would have been right after Canelo signed. Spence was still undefeated, Wilder was still in his prime, the Showtime situation appeared stable etc. A lot has changed since then

I think Canelo and to a degree Tank and pree Loss Spence made PBC attractive to investors but after that plus Fed intrest rates beeing cooky they prob cant get investment/loans to be a proper promoter especially with the purses commanded

Who does PBC even have anymore that is active fighter (i.e. no Spence) that anyone cares about? If they did that Fox or Amazon deal today, they get like 10% of the money that they did before.

Fundora, Benavidez, Morrell, Davis, Romero, Garcia, Tsyzu, Thurman, Martin, Fulton, Foster, Cruz, Pacquaio, Barrios, Ruiz, Plant.

Some of those names are washed though, or about to be washed.
