Whole album
:mjcry:
Classic shyt

i can understand why many say that but honestly, i think brown sugar is the better album. voodoo is cool but brown sugar was just incredible

voodoo is more of a jam album, it's mostly about the sound. whereas brown sugar imo was about both lyrics and sound

but voodoo is funky :wow:

I'm skewed to Brown Sugar myself. Voodoo is close, but it doesn't hit like Brown Sugar. Only thing bout Voodoo is that nikka was mumbling on majority of them songs like "Spanish Joint," it's prolly my favorite song on the album and I've probably been saying the lyrics wrong for years

yup, my favorite off of voodoo is africa and send it on :ohlawd:

send it on is just church, straight up. down to the "oooooooooh ooooooooh ooooooooooooohs" :whew:

but brown sugar is just perfect. it sounded like somethin' d'angelo had perfected while voodoo still seemed like somethin' he was experimentin' but hadn't quite mastered

Yeah Send It On, Greatdayndamornin, Left & Right, Devil's Pie, Africa all soulful joints. Album had bangers! He could've easily perfected the Voodoo sound had he followed it up sooner than 201x...

The 3 albums he put out I keep them on rotation like they dropped yesterday. D was just in his own lane back then. Africa is a slick track, however you need to hear the acoustic version of it and Spanish Joint. I will dig them out and up them here. Between Brown Sugar and Voodoo I have to go with Voodoo, it has a more soulful almost raw feel to it. Pretty sure I wore both of them cd's out as I bought new copies a few years back. Also check out Okayplayer Sam Champ presents D'Angelo Live....another one I'll up....
