Considering you could’ve had both (or drafted/signed a Lopez equivalent) and still kept Russell yeah it is a bad trade.

Only if the locker room was adamant about getting rid of him could it have been a good deal. Even then, no mediation was done, no leadership from the front office to fix the situation. Just petty shyt, that’s why the whole shyt is a mess.
