He wasn't weak just wasn't a savage...had no problem dealing punishment to those who deserved it....it was seeing people who didn't that bothered him. Seeing Wallace a mid that he knew had a good heart get killed was his breaking point.

And even with 25 over his head he was going to eat those years, he could have snitched on Avon and got the different life he always wanted. He stayed loyal...even after he knew Avon had something to do with his friends overdosing....
