I think it illustrates just how remarkable sociopathic behavior is. Serial killers and rapists hold down jobs, are upstanding citizens, raise families, etc., meanwhile their close friends, colleagues, and families have no idea what they're really into. I wouldn't label this dude a c00n, as I'm sure none of this cops' family or friends knew what he was doing. Having a serial rapist as a friend isn't like a petty dope dealer homie, gangbanger homie, etc.. We've all known people who are into some things, but serial rape isn't something you'll be aware of a friend doing, much less his racial preferences. It's up there with child pornography, serial killing, and even certain sexual fetishes like bdsm, scat, or golden showers.
The other thing to consider too ism regardless of race, these were prostitutes, and even if they were white, society would be hesitant to believe the. This case is why I dont buy feminist's arguments on rape culture. There is no culture of rape, rather a subculture consisting of a minor amount of sociopathic deviants committing multiple offences.
I'm surprised no one has called out the media's constant manipulation of using a black front (aka the Black friend) to excuse racism in cases where racism is prevalent. There was a Black friend in the Zimmerman saga, the Opie and Anthony debacle, the Darren Wilson case, the SAE fraternity saga, etc. The tactic has been used so much, it borders on propaganda and subtle brainwashing.
