Yes if he had said anything other than that I would criticise him, he said he’ll listen, does that mean he should reject these roles? People are always going to put the betterment of themselves and their immediate family above everything else.

I agree with that but our perspectives on race and white supremacy are not the same. This is why flat blackness needs to go away. We can be tired of talking about it all he wants but it must be discussed in the country because it can't be ignored.
He's tired of talking about race but decides to play Fred Hampton? I don't expect certain black people to get it. It would be great if they just shut the fukk because their comments are seen as "black people think....". History, context and nuance.

that’s part of the issue why a AA brotha should’ve had the role - it would have been for the betterment of his people above everything else.

I hear you but bro you do not think of your neighbor down the street before you do your Mom and Dad, let’s not be idealistic here.
I think these roles should be reserve pretty much solely for AAs but at end of day the producer who produced the film was AA, the son of the man who the film about is AA and saw little problem with it. Ryan Coogler, Shaka King, Charles King these people had the power to change things and did nothing.
Race matters here. That's not putting stock into anything. Those are just facts.
If this was another marvel movie, I’d be with you.
But, the subject matter hits too close to home for a lot of brothas and sistas that are still around and can critique this film with a fine-tooth comb. I respect all of those brothas but casting him was a bad move
