Nah I think the opposite. He's fully sober now. Think this was just him getting everything off his chest now that he's actually facing it. Seems like he's been running from his demons for a minute. Dude was spiraling down fast before he went to rehab. He actually looks healthy now.

Danny made me sad, you can tell he’s working thru it, getting himself better, I feel like his next will be fun, RTJ energy

Dunno why in hindsight but I didn't expect this album to be as dark and depressing as it is. There are a handful of artists I fukk with on a very high level, not just because I've been listening to the music for a long time but because I just respect them. Danny is high on that list. Since before XXX. His growth and consistency as an artist has been impressive, and his recent-ish venture into streaming and "content" has been interesting (and lord knows I'm someone who hates "content"). I figured he was still going through some shyt since most of us are even when things are good but man, I didn't expect this.

My overall thoughts on the album are unsettled. I like it but I can't rank or make definitive statements on day one for any album, much less one like this. I'm going to keep listening and gather some thoughts later.

Eh. I'm let down. I understand he's going through some things but the music is just dreary and not that compelling. Atrocity was dope because it was the soundtrack to self destruction but the music held up. I bet the label was on his ass for that Alchemist single because literally nothing else on here sounds like that.
