Bouba ain’t really a stand out in the scene like that and this is youth music first and foremost

There’s some stand out lyricists from BK drill like Envy and Coach (slightly older nikkas of course, they both like 30 now) but the average BK drill rapper was right on par with the vid I posted which had no Batman voices or none of that shyt and instead of having imported beats it was home cooked over the Ghetto Christmas Carol XXX sample beat is filthy.

These BX dudes have a whole different lingo, vocal tones/accents, signature ad libs than the BK dudes from a few years ago hip hop has also generally changed since then. 2016/17 was a long time ago.

It’s dated because the sound changed. That track with heavy autotune sounds dated today. This is hip-hop shyt move quick. Even the drill coming out the BX now has different sonic elements than what started coming out when this shyt started making noise at the beginning of the pandemic and that wasn't long ago.

5 years ago is a very long time in hip-hop.

The PNV Jay song you posted was average. Kay Flock, Dougie B, B Lovee, Kenzo Balla, TG Crippy, DD Osama, DThang, Lee Drilly, Set Da Trend, Sha EK, etc. got better shyt than that. Nobody is selling but a dozen rappers who established themselves years ago. The majority of rappers in a subgenre won't sell.

Hip-Hop is decentralized and increasingly regional and in a transition phase.

Club drill beats are the future of hip-hop if you actually been paying attention to where shyt is headed.

This notion that every drill rapper needs to sell in order for the subgenre to be seen as successful is ridiculous. Compare these dudes to fellow up and coming rappers instead of expecting 21 Savage numbers out the gate.

Griselda don't sell shyt, on here they the most relevant thing ever. Kay Flock and Sleepy Hallow have more Spotify numbers than Benny. Their numbers are better than a lot of rappers.

Pop Smoke was a breakout star who did monster numbers. Fivi debut album did decent numbers for a debut album in the 2020's. B Lovee just got his plaque for My Everything.

You talking about sales for nikkas that signed in the last 6 months, haven't yet completed tours, gotten features, or even done interviews. Let these nikkas GROW. You realize Ice Spice is top 3 on Billboard right now? Just killed Rollin' Loud yesterday? Getting major coverage from all platforms? Rapping in a Bronx drill style over club drill beats.

DD Osama will be touring this summer and already has Atlanta, LA, Philly shows booked for Spring

Fivio Foreign more successful than all them and can do shows everywhere

Ice Spice will almost surely be touring and doing bigger venues than everyone you named just off Munch and the Pink Pantheress song

If Sheff and Sleepy weren't locked up they'd also be touring domestic and international shows because they have bigger records than them but you'll simply see when they're both free.

I know they are technically Ny Drill but they are so much better. Wasted talent. Sheff is one of the better artist of the last 10 years with great versatility. If he could leave the streets alone I could see him having a real run. He and pop are the perfect 50 cent sons.
