I was high when I wrote that, but I stand by it...a shamen is a way shower. This era is akin to the 70's where nikkas were looking for something beyond what was being offered to them, they had the right idea but they had no guidance...imagine where the hippie movement could have gone with proper initiation and oversight to make sure that energy and philosophy didn't stay regulated to nikkas laying around half dead in the grass.
And that's what these nikkas are trying to do...shyt came back around just like bell bottoms, everything is a cycle, you even got nikkas naming themselves after hendrix, dressing like him, trying to be abstract while riding the wave of psychedelics and entheogens.
A Shamen shows you how to navigate through darkness, they show you how to take the "drugs" and walk with you through it. We promote the drugs but we don't give the flip side...hay hay smoke weed everyday but to what end? You trying to learn something or you just distracting yourself? That question is relevant with the drug use/abuse and the overall shift in the direction of Hip Hop in general.
