I think the suicide-by-cop ending in the comics was the better ending. But also, in the comics, Matt lost the case, so...But I think for the show, they should've had him go out but leave the amulet/medallion. He would've known that there would be retaliation. Then again, they never showed or told that he actually had powers, so the way he went out is irrelevant in the main plot.

But I'm pretty sure they're gonna end this season with The Murdock Papers.

Honestly i was expecting him to die by the end of the episode regardless, so i wasn't as bothered as some of the others have been. But i agree it could have been executed better. Nobody is watching this series and becoming a big white tiger fan as a result. which is a missed opportunity for marvel.
but ultimately this show is about daredevil. and it still serves the narrative for his character all the same.

My thoughts with that is that White Tiger is such a throwaway character, when he got brought back into the mix, I had to go so far back into my childhood Marvel trading card mental rolodex (circa 92-95 ) like

That I was unfazed by his lack of awareness

His death definitely could've and should've been more clever or challenging. Even a long distance silence sniper shot from the killer...the same killer, which would be in canon as seen here:
