I won't lie, it's true. I know that in my family I was constantly reminded that I was the "dark one". I don't hate myself though, my parents taught me to love myself. Can't let the cac media control your perception.
I kind of blame colorism and c00n ass rappers like Lil Wayne who perpetuate the myth that light skinned = attractive. Love yourself regardless of your skin color even if you're pastey white all the way to dark but the rampant self-hate in colorism is distasteful.
It's even worst because it making these busted ass fat and ugly light skinned hoes feel like they are a hard 9 when they are a soft 4 WITH the beer goggles on ONLY because they are light skinned. Also nerdy ass, socially retarded, basement dwelling white/asian/indian guys online will talk shyt about black women being ugly while singing high praises for basic ass blonde chicks. It won't even be a bomb ass blonde chick but a basic one. Then self hating black men gas up the ugly ass light skinned women to where attractive dark skin girls feel like they aren't pretty. Attractive dark skinned women are just as pretty as other women not inspite of being dark skinned but because they are beautiful as they are.
I'm a high yellow cat with hazel eyes and it breaks my heart seeing attractive dark skinned women down themselves and claim they want light skinned babies because they don't find dark skin attractive. I find it even more ironic because white guys will typically be able to see the beauty in dark skinned women and will usually be okay with dating/marrying them than some black men who only want a "yellow dyme piece".

I don't believe all dark skin women and men are self haters but too many for my liking. A good amount of them do chase after light skin men and women. Not all but of course but it exists. But they are light skin women and men that are color struck as well but being light skin its not as noticeable.
