If youre a Jets fan, I don't understand the logic in wanting to resign a CB to a 16 million per yr deal when you're gonna be a .500 level team or in rebuild mode anyway. This starts the rebuild officially now & you can tank/see who on your roster is really worth being there. This isn't nearly as bad as some NYJ fans are making it out to be
Most of us agree dude had to be traded...

Its retarded to have a 16 million CB on a rebuilding team...

But what the Jets got in return imo was basura...

Plus NYJ have 2 top 15 picks now...in the NFL that's huge value. Jets can get 2 potential starters in this draft now...that's a win/win to me :yeshrug:

Tampa was the only team willing to give up a pick....

would u have preferred a Mike Wallace situation? If Pittsburgh makes this deal the media would be blowing them

Yeah, I have no problem with this trade at all. Jets weren't going to win shyt with or without Revis this year. get two picks for the future and re-build.

Get Rex out of there after this year would be a good idea too IMO

is dead-money cap hit basically a deduction from the salary cap because a player is not on the roster but still accounts against the cap?

I know that, I'm not disappointed with Idzick he got the best deal possible...

We were never going to get fair compensation for Revis but I would have at least liked two picks in this draft and one next year...The rumored 1, 3, 5 was solid compensation...

and Pittsburgh doesn't get shytted on because they know how to work the draft...They can turn a 5th rounder into a blue chip...The Jets on the other hand are one of the most inept franchises in NA pro sports...They deservedly get shytted on by everyone...

The rebuild doesn't start for another year because there's no one to build around yet.

The Jets just traded one of the best players they've ever had IN HIS PRIME, got one pick out of it (the conditional pick they would have gotten anyway, and if they deal a 4 or a 5 for Chris Ivory the Jets don't net any picks), and no matter who they get at 13, that player will never be as good as Revis. I'm supposed to feel good about that?

:mindblown:

The Vikings got more for a WR who misses a bunch of time off headaches than we did. The Niners got more for a game manager than we did. The only way the Jets will even know if this was remotely successful is by having a season Rich Kotite would  at, and if they draft a QB at all this year, then this was all for nothing anyway.

The value in the draft is in rounds 2-3, not at the top.

Bucs front office :laff: :laff:

Revis vs. Roddy/Julio twice a yr tho :ohhh:

:salute: to @Jutt if this goes down, the only tolerable Bucs fan on The Coli :blessed:

:wow: it's been a long time coming. I said it awhile ago it was only a matter of time. Even in our draft thread I figured we wouldn't have our pick at 13

Preciate the shoutout breh.. :myman:

You're gonna rebuild around this draft class & the current players on your roster either play their way into the Jets future or onto another team next yr

Who said anything about feeling good about it? Jets had to get a deal done, only had one trade partner & a corner coming off an ACL injury. Who knows if Revis will be the same player he was? And he wanted 16 mil breh

Jets had no leverage in this deal so making the comparison b/w other teams with multiple trade partners is irrelevant

The value in the draft is in rounds 2-3, not at the top.

The DL/corner value at the top of the draft is very good. You could get a starting DL & CB with your top two picks
