Are you the same person when you are dating someone versus when you are official? I had a convo recently with a female friend that says she is the same person all the time no matter what the status is when she is with someone. Personally, the dating me is different from the official relationship me.

Am I the only one that feels this way?

Absolutely not. When you are dating someone, you're breaking the ice and getting to know them. There is also no commitment. When you're official, you're only supposed to be committed to that one person. It's the stage after the trial.

For me, they aren’t different. I don’t date multiple people so its always “exclusive” to me. So I have to pay attention to how dude is acting and I’ll act accordingly. If he’s dating multiple women, I’ll make it seem as if I’m openly dating other dudes as well.

I dig it, most people I know call that the “talking” stage but I just assume it’s all the same until I’m ready to commit to someone

Dating is more exciting. Official is more comfortable.

I think everyone makes more of an effort during the dating phase, its natural if you like each other. Once its official things are more relaxed and easy going.

Both have their positives and negatives.

I move and act differently when I'm only dating a woman. She's not going to reap the benefits of an official relationship when there is no commitment between us.

So you're the same person and do the same things when you're just dating someone? I'm not treating a woman that I'm only dating wifey. We're going to have to be committed for that.

Not necessarily the same person but if I’m dating someone I’m not actively looking for other women to pursue...but yeah if I’m committed to a women that means she’s the only one I’m fukking on
