These projects are not as straightforward as average people believe. In order to get planning permission, affordable housing is often tacked on as a concession, pledge, whatever you want to call it.
Corners are cut with it. Resources get spread thin if they don't develop enough schools and other facilities to deal with the new population.
It is more than just "I don't want poor people living in my area", but that is the side people will play up.

All the people in town i know living in those places are black people my age or younger. The whites folks are actually happy about this.

And as i said prior, it sounds like Dave lives in a historical town

Affordable housing should be available in every neighborhood as to not be concentrated in the few.
These slumlord developers wouldn't be able to bank $24M that way, as they do now.

"affordable housing" could mean anything, it's not like they saying they're going put projects right next to his crib
and honestly sometimes affordable housing be a lie developers say in order to get tax incentives and rights to build only to then build expensive ass condos with like one or two affordable studio units in the building
either way it's whatever, a community should be able to control what happens in said community as long as it's not some racist shyt. So far my community been losing to developers so i'm not mad Dave got some leverage

He's rich so he can leave I don't see why people get upset about this then cry about gentrification. He pays the taxes when upper class blacks get robbed you just shrug your shoulders and feel like they shouldn't be flossing next to "wolves" the hypocrisy

Basically Yellowsprings is an historically black college town with ties to the 1960s civil rights movement. Antioch college is in town and were correta scott king went to school.
In the past 3 decades the college has fallen off, but the town became a popular tourist destination because of the liberal attitude and hippy culture. basically people came to smoke weed with bohemian types.
Eventually these tourists (white people) loved it so much they started buying property out here. Gentrication starting and black folks who grew up there started slowing moving away to more affordable places.
Dave Chappelle then moved here at the height of his chappelle show popularity and gentrification really exploded big time. Your little 2 bedroom one bath house the you bought for 80K back in 1950 is now worth 750K. because it's within walking distance of all the tourist spots. Now the only black folks in town are the ones who already owned property and were doing well enough that they didn't see a need to sell for a quick payout and the young folks like my friends who were staying in these affordable housing duplexes and saving up to buy something in town.

I knew what time it was when they were out there in the nice neighborhood(Myers Park for my Charlotte folks) marching under the guise of “taking the fight to the rich folks” and these fools are up in the Moe’s restaurant and others in that same area with BLM signs spending money in that same neighborhood. shyt was wild to me.
