I mean is it? He don't want his nice neighborhood fukked up. Build that shyt somewhere else.:yeshrug:

Of course poor and middle class folks will think of it as bad, but I look at it from both sides.

As if wealth equality wasn’t bad enough, now we gotta deal with people defending MUTLIMILLIONAIRES!

I went out of my way to make my post as clear as possible cuz i knew some coli nikkas was gonna try to get some self righteous post off for cheap daps.

Lemme break it down. Me stating that the neighborhood came together to fight off liquor stores and "affordable housing" was not conflating it was a fact. Affordable housing has many meanings, but in metro Atlanta its a damn scam. Affordable housing in the city means out of a whole complex they might dedicate a few to low income folks, in the suburbs its totally different.

They tore down all of the projects in the metro. So hundreds of thousands of folks needed a place to stay. They gave them vouchers to find housing BUT not anywhere, it was specifically in two counties which just so happened to the two blackest here. We are the only metro area in America which doesn't have projects. So now 10 years later, houses have went up, so the homeowners who rented to Section 8 people are sick of dealing with them and can now sell their homes for a great profit. Now they need more apartments for them to go to, single family homes are scarce so lets just dump them where all the black folks are.......again. Black area Apartments are the new projects, while on the white side, apartments are luxury and they price them at 2200 and up.

So affordable housing in most areas of the country might mean working families that need down payment assistance, or renting assistance. Here its Section damn 8, and ask anyone who lives here how hoods have changed in the last 10 years, and its usually due to them. I stayed at my moms for 2 nights last week, she lives in a nice subdivision but i hear gunshots all damn night. The fukk? Now i gotta move my mom cuz she's used to it. Her area is heavily Section 8 apartments sandwiched in near homes.
You are proving my point tho. They are trying to put affordable housing OUTSIDE OF THE HOOD so that low income isn't strongly correlated with a negative environments that surround you with the BS, but NIMBYs like yall reject it and so these people are stuck in shytty neighborhoods they don't always want to be in.

It's like a crab in a barrel mentality... you can see the hood isn't where you want to live, but you don't want to provide affordable housing opportunities for people who want to escape the situation.

And then you say Section 8 is a scam????? YES people scam on section 8 but again, you are (un?)knowningly spewing Republican talking points that since the people you hear about on TV or at the club are scamming it, therefore everyone should be lumped in together. It's like you can't fathom that there are people actually thriving and working their way out of poverty thanks to Section 8 and instead focus on the negative aspects and generalize them all.

It is now, because all the black folks had to move to Xenia. Used to be a black town. The culture we created there is why it's such a destination. Affordable housing was helping some of us stay there long enough to build.
Bro im from Dayton.

We aint NEVER looked at Yellow Springs as a black town

Before Dave it was known as a college town (Antioch)

I’m pro development and believe that all income levels should live together. I do not believe in class divide.

I don’t even think mansions should exist. They are literally bad for the earth and human living in a house with 10 bathrooms while having 3 kids is absurd.

That’s very idealistic of you and I don’t disagree, but America is not designed that way

This whole post is based on a false pretense and you only cherry pick what you want to give a idealistic response to common sense issues. You speaking to a breh that grew up in the projects, mama was on section 8, food stamps, and all that other shyt. Talk to me when you wanna have a grown up discussion.
