I reserve judgment until I see how much actual “low income” housing is a part of this project. The developers play that game for sympathy come to find out one $450K house has a $20K low income credit
People who live out in the country do it to stay away from people and crowds and traffic. Having the 40 acre plot across the road turn into a 120 house development fukks up the whole reason you moved to the country. Im trying to by a rural house and i would be PISSED if I built a house just for them to re-zone farmland next door for a massive development.
Cities try to rezone low density land (maybe 1 house per 5 acres max) because they want the property taxes and dont give a fukk about the people already living there.
And I bet Chapelle living there was a big selling point too.
