For sure. I’ve seen chapelle multiple times now even as early as Kevin Hart opening up for him at the Montreal comedy festival. He was a killer no doubt.
As an aside I suggest anyone who is interested to check out some of Dave’s rants specifically at the marquis in Detroit...he became somewhat of a primadonna after the success of his show on Comedy Central.
I am essentially saying that the bar has lowered as a consequence of the podcast scene emerging...there is really no cutting of the teeth doing runs at shytty as clubs honing your craft. The craft has become a product of your marketing power as opposed to pure comedic filth. Comedy back even in the early 2000s wasn’t as inclusive as it is now in my opinion which obviously has its ups and downs. Namely any clown with a following can make a name for themselves.
I was killed in this thread but my ultimate point was that these rich cocksuckers should be setting the precedent And not showcasing privilege when it comes to performing especially someone at Dave’s level. A dude making 50 bucks at the bingo hall sure I can understand his plight
