Doesn't she know light skinned people aren't allowed to like their features?
can't front you bring up a valid point. it seems like the only allowable preference for people of african descent is medium brown to very dark skin with kinky hair. for instance i can go on at length about how i feel towards bria myles features and be very explicit about her dark skin being attractive. no one bats an eye, hell they'll even big me up for highlighting her beautiful chocolate complexion... i'm also a huge fan of lauryn hill and loved short kinky twist nappy heads remix/vocab lauryn. i wanted to touch her hair, my little shorty back then never found it an issue when i complimented L Boogie's hair
but let's say i do the same exact thing about esther baxter or mya harrison? then i'm a self hating c00n lol. now i'm not naive, i understand the history of colorism, brown paper bag test, being ashamed of our kinky hair etc. so we want to take ownership of our natural features and engage in self love as well adjusted african people... but are light skinned afrcans with softer textured hair ever allowed to like or verbalize love for their own features? and are we collectively as black people ever allowed to find those features attractive in a public forum without sounding bad for doing it? i dunno, it's complex man..
