East has a fan base lol. His tour already has some sold out dates. His album did its lil 24,000 sales in its first week. He was on a late night show on CBS performing the other night. He acting now I would say he doing aight for himself.

U not making no money putting out tapes online in fact you wasting money on studio time, paying for features/beats, and often paying to perform at places and wasting money to promote your music.

From 2010-2014 East was putting out tapes to no traction like the vast majority of aspiring rappers. Black Rose was his break out after that he got signed by Nas and started getting some money.

That’s not wasting. That’s investing and he betted on himself. Give it up to him.

Not a fan of his music but I knew Dave and his brother when they was living in MD....Shout to Forest Park Apt.....Very happy for the breh, he was always a cool humble dude but one of those brothas who was just caught up in where to fit in...I remember last seeing him in '12 at one of our mutual friends baby shower, at the time he was back n forth between Richmond, MD and NY tryna figure shyt out......Hopefully his bro is doing good last i heard he couldn't stay out of trouble

As far as him not making nothing after 4 years, thats pretty standard....I bet that grind has him a lot more firm and professional about his biz for the long term compared to catching a buzz early on....nikka just needs to lay low with the hoes and NOT at all cost put seeds in them.....

Nah, East played D1 college ball he didn’t play overseas.

He got kicked out of school and was living like a nomad in Baltimore, D.C., Philly, NYC.
