wow great ending...legit gonna miss this show...what’s crazy is we might have to wait about 2 years for the next season w/ this corona shyt smh

it’s always cracked me up this season how serious he is about his content...I’m wondering if he really is that way (I’m completely unfamiliar w/ his music outside of the song he did w/ c. brown) or if that’s part of the “joke”

This was a great first season and the finale was dope af I like how most of the episode he was rapping reminded me of that song he had about his brain.

That first sequence was  toward the end there but I'm glad the record execs set him straight about trivializing race and rape jokes. I've got a feeling between that conversation and the Breakfast Club scene he's trying to show how he was insensitive to his own privilege when he first started rapping in real life. I saw an early interview he did with Vice that he got criticized for where he basically said he had more to lose if he fails at rapping because he would lose access to his privileged life.

Here's the interview: Lil dikky Isn't a White Supremacist, He's Just an a$$hole

Overall I enjoyed the season, good mix of comedy and character development. Much different from what I expected.
Apparently he was really on the Breakfast Club a few years ago and there were some similarities with the finale. He also addressed that interview I linked.

:ehh:

Damn.. when Gata tells everyone he's bi polar :mjcry:
That’s crazy I was just thinking about that scene. That was the only moment in the season that really had me emotional. I don’t know the actor who plays Gata but that shyt was A level. Crying scenes always come off phony to me, but that was all genuine. That’s a dude who really been through real pain to summon that type of emotion. That’s when Dave went from just being a great comedy to a great show, period.

Definitely my favorite new comedy this year, I knew it would be somewhat funny because He's a funny dude.. I wasn't expecting the character development and great writing. The bi polar and Ally Toast are my favorite episodes along with finale. Only episode I didn't love was the one with the producer and the Asian chick. Great show, with this and Devs I think FX has the best shows on cable when you add Atlanta and Snowfall. Hope Dave returns soon
