He lost money. That's common knowledge.

When he was Champ they were getting destroyed in the ratings. And you really compared Yokozuna and Diesel? :mjlol: A bunch of other people who couldn't draw? Be the tallest midget brehs. :skip:
According to Dynamite Dave, he lost less than Bret. Take it up with Money Meltz breh...

All I know is that Michaels did decent business in house shows as champ. ,

Attendance was up from previous years when he champ for the 1st time. Now, how much weight does that have? You gotta consider that historically WWF always outdrew WCW in house shows attendance, and Shawn and company were doing abysmal business on PPV and at a time were ratings were a big thing, WCW was destroying them.

Indeedwrestliing made a couple of graphics using info from the Observer (clown it all you want, I sure as hell do, but it's the only source we have for this kinda shyt :manny:):

Most fair and balanced post in the thread, word to Greg Gutfield and Fox News.

Shawn's house show numbers tell the story. Shawn himself would admit to you that yeah, he'd rather watch WCW Nitro with the NWO rather than himself versus Smoking Gunn Billy Gunn.

I mean let's be real. Shawn and Steve Austin were literally the only guys going for WWE at the time.

A lot of guys on TSC weren't around or don't remember 1996. At the time, Shawn was pretty god damn hot. Redman showed love in "Soopaman Luva 3" (0:30)

Shawn and Austin were two guys. Other than that, who's going to grab your attention away from Hall, Nash, and Hoegan? Nobody, that's who, because literally nobody else on the roster meant dikk until Bret decided to come back out of hiding.

Bottom line is, people in the streets came out and paid to see Shawn because of his once-in-al-lifetime talent that everyone including Bret had lacked since the Hogan years.

Sabremetrics for pro wrestling brehs :bryan:

The guy who does those graphics (Chris Harrington a.k.a. mookieghana) does this kinda stuff for every wrestling metric he can put his hands on. It's nerd as fukk but really interesting when you read his work.

I thought mookie would fukk the numbers up but he did a good job. This is why Meltzer had to admit, as much as he didn't want to, that Shawn drew more than Bret. The jump in house show numbers is pretty dramatic.

I heard that Tupac was going to reference HBGOAT in a rap during a studio performance, but he was murdered before it could happen.
