Never been a big fan of Bowie, I can only name like 3-4 songs. I'm more a fan of his son (Duncan Jones), he's a great director.

So if this is Prince vs Bowie, it's Prince all day for me.

Having said that, they would probably laugh at fans taking sides like this. They were friends. Went to each others shows, Prince even did covers of Bowie songs. People are basically getting upset over something he said about Prince that Prince, as far as I know, never took offense to.

Not saying you should stop complaining but if Prince ain't upset :manny: I personally can't rationalize getting upset, either.

I don't know what the bolded means, or what "stats" you're looking at to get that figure.

But I don't know what's so hard to understand about what I said. Like I said, I love Prince, and I'm a Prince stan. I concede that Prince is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist.

He's better than Bowie at playing the guitar and many other instruments, just like he's better than Michael Jackson at playing the guitar and many other instruments or insert a lot of other musicians. Everyone who knows Bowie (and knows music) knows that Bowie wasn't that great at playing guitar (despite coming up with one of the greatest riffs of all time) and that though he could play a lot of instruments he usually relied on session musicians that were better at playing the instruments than him.

All that said that doesn't ignore the fact that Bowie still wrote everything and that his music changed the course of music and pop culture at large a few times during his career, not even taking into account his influence in other realms. There are only a few other artists who are more iconic and influential than Bowie, whose impact you can still visibly see today.

Couldn't hold Prince's jockstrap...that's funny :russ:

I was never a fan of Bowie. But not a hater either. I also don't care that he died. People die everyday.

Unfortunately, this is where we are now. Everybody wants to be outraged about something no matter how trivial it is.

I mean, if we're going to go there about Bowie's comments now just because people are paying homage and respect in an R.I.P. thread. Where was this thread when he said he was inspired by Kendrick Lamar. This was months ago when he was still living.
