It's been the main theory. But David chase actually confirming it for the first time is kinda a big dealI thought this was known.

I always felt like HBO should have done like an hour or so unannounced special with all the ancillary cast members from the show in present day where everybody sort of drops pieces about what actually happened and let the fans decide
