peak cac/incel type ish to downplay halle berry in her initial films. all them early joints she did are classics.... especially to the culture :mjpls:
possibly her best films and plenty of star power in them (bruce, eddie, rock, damon, wesley, etc) :manny:
This isn’t about black or white acceptance or how we feel about the quality. You gotta be able to be objective about star power and recognizability if we’re talking about who “outranks” who in terms of celebrity status and earning power since it’s what keeps getting mentioned. And she wasn’t on equal star power footing at the time of her marriage, just like she wouldn’t have been if she was dating a player on the Dallas Cowboys or Chicago Bulls in the 90s. It is what it is

You're being disingenuous in an effort to support women

It was an interview about his life. DJ was a very big deal in the 90s
This is why I’m going to chalk it up to people being young or ill informed. I remember they had dude on an episode of The Young and the Restless :mjlol:

Not only was David Justice a very big deal, baseball itself was also a much bigger deal at the time.

i just gave facts and you are giving feelings and theories. she's literally playing the co-starring role to eddie murphy in his peak prime at the time. she's literally playing halle berry as herself in cb4 (which was the number 1 at the box office when it came out before you goofies start to try to play it like it wasn't ish) starring chris rock at the time. something shaq also did why? because shaq was also a star at the time lol. so refute what i said or stfu :manny:

and i wasn't ranking them against each other, i specifically said "downplaying her" at the time period is cac/incel type ish when she was obviously a star by any standard. that's probably why he married her despite not being his type. had his ass star gazed out lol

ranking them against each other is fukking stupid and borderline gay. respectfully.
they not even in the same industry
ol "dave justice had a big dikk in 93 breh" head asses :pachaha:

Say what :mjlol:

Mentioning the “culture” and calling people incels is facts?

The only reason that anyone in this thread is correcting the record about their star power in 1992/1993 is because the overwhelming sentiment in this thread is that he was some dude getting with an established actress. That’s wild to anyone who lived through it, and if nobody was in here banging that drum there’d be nothing to say.

She was still getting her first opportunities and sharing screen time with actors who were established.

No matter how much the culture loved her early movies, she wasn’t making bread yet and didn’t have any leading roles. Jungle Fever is a classic, but it only had a $12 million budget, and Halle wasn’t even a lead in it. So she didn’t YET have the money or acclaim that brehs in here are talking about. She was what she was at that time, a hot up and comer.

Calling that “downplaying her” is straight feelings when the point people are making is that Justice wasn’t some fledgling dude getting with an established and accomplished actress at that point.

But David Justice played in a World Series that year that had global ratings that still haven’t been fukked with:

“The Series telecast drew an overall national Nielsen rating of 24.0 and a 39 share for CBS; Game 7 drew a 32.2 rating and 49 share. As of 2021, no subsequent World Series has approached either number in national television ratings.”

It doesn’t have shyt to do with being a man or a woman. Correcting people on a timeline of events shouldn’t be some big deal that even needs defending for people that like facts. It would be just as dumb as me saying that David Justice is the bigger star right now. Anyone correcting that would be justified regardless because it’s not accurate.

man f all the babble. you don't get co-starring roles in movies with stars by being a nobody. you don't play yourself in number 1 films by not being a star, you literally got hired for your star power in that case.
refute what i said which are facts. or stfu

like do yall actually get in relationships and try to compete with your girl?!? who makes more money, who had more followers?
that's a whole different issue
idk why yall are putting that on them
he can be who he was. it takes nothing away from her being who she was
it's like i always tell the jealous girlies, you don't have to put another girl down just to big up yourself!

just looking up more facts, she was in major movies but also doing it big on TV in 93. yall like to "correct" the record but conveniently left that part out

- Alex Haley's Queen stars Halle Berry in the title role. (so much for no lead roles babble)
- The first episode of 'Queen,' broadcast Feb. 14, in the prior ratings week, was highest rated Sunday movie on any network this season and the highest rated network movie since NBC's 'Those She Left Behind' on March 6, 1989.

And if she did everything he wanted her to do instead of focusing on her career, she may never had got to the level she did.

Clearly she had goals and that didn’t include cooking/cleaning and being a mother.

Currently, Halle seems to be a in pretty decent relationship.

What is David doing but complaining on the internet? If he’s currently married yet talking about his ex-wife, then he’s an idiot and needs to get over it. His wife should be side-eyeing him. That relationship ended decades ago.
Exactly, because life has trade offs.

You most likely ain’t gonna be no top performing actress and a top performing wife and mother, you most likely gotta pick. A guy like David Justice, and most men at that level, don’t care about her money or career accolades. They care about a woman that’s gonna build with them and not be on her own agenda.

They both had a choice and David is doing fine with his kids, wife and millions and Halle, while career accomplished, is still trying to figure out the relationship game at 52.

It doesn’t have to be a competition because they can all do what they want but he got everything he wanted and she didn’t, not yet anyway. I hope she figures it out tho.
