David Stern knows what he's done for african-americans. He knows how he's manipulated race narratives for his benefit. He knows if he'd really done as much for african-americans as guys like him say the do, Donald Trump probably wouldn't be in office.

And so, whenever someone comes at him, he already has in his mind every possible argument they could throw at him, and so many rebuttals to the point that you would never have enough airtime to get through them all. That's why David Stern, or Adam Silver, or whoever is the commissioner, and not some dude who grew up playing and coaching. It's always some guy who's super legalistic, that way they can twist the players into knots, and make them feel like they're getting a good deal when they're really getting fukked in the ass.
