How many shots is he gonna block? Is he gonna make LeBron or Kyrie think twice about going to the basket? If he's on the floor offensively do the Cavs even need to hide Kevin Love? How is he gonna stop Tristan Thompson from bullying him for rebounds in the paint? THESE are the questions Warriors fans need to be asking, because that's the only series that matters and the inevitable one.

I'm not even saying West is a bad player or terrible, or that they shouldn't have signed him. I'm saying having optimism because you signed David West is laughable.

You're trying too hard to downplay the signing. This is like saying Channing Frye isn't a huge addition to the Cavs roster even though he's useless again the Warriors. If we're talking only about the Cavs matchup, then lets talk about Kevin Durant and how he threatens to break that matchup in half. Lets talk about the 7 players who are more important than West that will largely eat up all of the minutes.

There should be optimism about West because he's is an upgrade over every other big off the bench on the roster last season, brings a set of skills that were not present off the bench last season, and will be important to balancing out that lockeroom. You saying that he doesn't fit with the team at all is a poorly formed opinion that shows a lack of understanding of what he provides to this game.

Uh yes he does. West is an elite mid range shooter, one of the better passers at the position, sets good screens, has a good post up game and is a tremendous teammate. This is a guy who goes to war for his guys and asserts himself as a leader in the lockeroom. Let someone try to fukk with Curry or Durant.

The Warriors do need more rim protection, but that doesn't mean he won't be very valuable for them. He should be more reliable than Festus actually.

lol. hes old and slow. layup line with him in the game. yall said this same shyt about him in san antonio last year. how did that work out? :stopitslime:

He played well for San Antonio..... shot 49% from mid range and 54% on post ups. As great a passer he's ever been and while he can't protect the rim his communication still added value to that historically strong defense

West’s vocal leadership a factor in Spurs’ top-ranked defense

The Spurs getting bounced had a lot more to do with Duncan being completely ineffective than West - a past his prime role player - not being able to hang with one of the best rebounding front courts of this era.

If you're going to base everything on that series them Diaw is done too.

Do they need post scoring?

Do they need high post playmakers?

Do they need pick & pop bigs?

Do they need screen setters?

Do they need strong communicators outside of Green that can organize the team?

The Warriors need more than just rim protection. It is a concern, but no team is without its flaws and they'll have to live with it unless McGee pans out. At the very least their small lineup with Draymond and now Durant will be an even stronger defense than previously.

there two sides to the ball. id put his slow ass in the pick in roll everytime. im not sure about the defense of the small lineup improving. KD does not have good lateral movement and hes frail. i think the clippers could be a problem for them, if they ever get healthy.

and the team will be strong on both ends the floor. He'll be surrounded by most talent of his playing career and and some of the best defensive coaching in this league.

Durant is a clear defensive upgrade over Barnes. He does much more to bother shooters and has rim protection ability at the four. You saw that in the Warriors series where his defense was the reason the best offense in the league couldn't get into a rhythm.

I'd say they gave the Clips more problems than vice versa. Remember how well their small ball lineup played against them last season, DJ nor Griff could punish them. We'll see what happens this year

Why is that such a bad thing? I don't see why ppl look down on him for this. Its not like hes coming in trying to dictate what role hes goin to play. He just coming into contribute whatever help he can. I swearyou nigguhs just like to hate/criticize.

What does the NBA have to do with this?

This is David West's decision to become a ring prostitute.. It's within his rights to sign with anyone he wants
Oh sorry, I should have been more specific for you nitpickers.

The PLAYERS in the NBA are becoming disgraceful.

That better?
