Ohio political activist, “one of the original voices of the resistance” to challenge Paul Ryan
POSTED 3:18 PM, MAY 30, 2017, BY AP WIRE SERVICE

MADISON — A Democratic political activist from Ohio has moved to Wisconsin to run against House Speaker Paul Ryan.

David Yankovich announced Tuesday, May 30th that he would challenge the Republican Ryan next year. Ryan was born and raised in Janesville, which is in the southeast Wisconsin congressional district he’s represented since 1998.

Yankovich calls himself “one of the original voices of the resistance against Paul Ryan and Donald Trump.” His campaign website touts the fact that he recently moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin, and is not rich, famous or a politician.

Yankovich says he plans to spend the next year and a half meeting people from Wisconsin and learning from them.

Ryan’s campaign spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Ryan won re-election in 2016 with 65 percent of the vote.

Paul Ryan has infinite amount of money and has been in Congress since he was in his 20s.

Yeah, pretty much this. Unless there's a major scandal, he'll have the seat as long as he wants it. Having previously lived in his district, his average voter votes for him because there's an R by his name, think he's one of them (even though he's rich and has always lived off the government tit) and the Dems have never put up a credible candidate with money or name recognition.
