All he's doing is reducing as many costs he can while preparing a nice debt package so he can make a killing selling Max to Apple or Amazon. It's obvious what he's doing. He doesn't care about art, he doesn't care about quality, he doesn't care about prestige shows...all he wants is to mix as much of his slop (reality tv trash) alongside HBO shyt. To me, HBO has always had the best shows out of all the streaming options. They also have the best history (Sopranos, The Wire, etc). It's jarring as fukk seeing all those shows alongside Discovery's shows on the app.
I really think the end goal is just gonna be Apple and Amazon. They have legit products/business services that can offset the cost of streaming, whereas Max/Netflix/Paramount/etc are drowning in debt without anything tangible to sell. Maybe Google joins the party at some point.
