Daycare costs alone discourage me from having children

Luckily my mom retired when I had my daughter so she looked out for me. My friend has her own daycare so I've never paid more than $500/month when I did decide to put my daughter in daycare.

I cannot do that. This is my close family member.
We're talkin' someone I grew up in the same house with, who my mama used to bathe in the same bathtub as me.
Besides - as I mentioned, he has 5 other children and they need to see as many black men trying to do right by them as possible.

You gotta know when to cut your losses, a person like him with 5 children is a danger to be around and his lack of planning and good decision making can bleed into your like unintentionally. Be careful, you seem like a good person.

Daycare does cost a lot (im paying $225 for a 9 month old) but to me its necessary. Builds up his immune systems, social skills, education. He has progressed faster since we enrolled him a couple of months ago. I would not take the chance of my kid being behind at all when going into kindergarten, so daycare is what works best for him.

Not worth it in Western society unless your Mom's or Pops can take care of it while you at work for the first 5 years of life.

Most Indian families just throw maybe 100 a week at most to their mother/father for pampers, lunch and mid-day bingo. Their parents are like 65 retired so there is nothing else for them to do bit watch some kids anyway.

Meanwhile Black folk we kick our kids out at 18 and don't tend to our grandchildren. And wonder why we lost in Amerikkka.

Childcare industry doesn't exist in other countries it's just for wealthy families. Only in America cam you profit off the working poor.

Stop having children if you don't make enough to comfortably afford a nanny.

Forgive me if this is a personal question but are you able to afford to stow any money away for retirement while paying for daycare?

Seems like this is a HUGE bill to take on for most parents so I'm not understanding how most people can afford to do this.
