Both are very technical but Em can also weave punches and metaphors into rhymes while Royce isn’t much of a punchline and metaphor rapper

Royce flow is smoother when he’s ON he’s ON

At their peaks both are bout on an even playing field

I voted Em because his rhymes are more focused, but it’s more fun to listen to Royce, if that makes sense.



All their collabs are fun to listen to as well. The wish they did a full “Bad Meets Evil” project around 1997-1999 instead of waiting so late.

Royce got worse lyrically, imo. He’s become a better songwriter tho over the years definitely, much better. He’s like Banks to me…he’s too focused on syllables and rhyme patterns…so much so that he’ll sacrifice the lyrics/what he’s actually saying for it, sometimes that shhit be glorified gibberish but the multis are heavy tho, . Go listen to “King of Kings”, he can’t/doesnt do that anymore,
