He sounded fine over the J.Cole songs. That’s the type of sound he should be rapping over.

This aint it. Its too busy. The beat is all over the place, the mix makes the bars hard to hear, and he's using his battle rap style on a diss record and that shyt don't work. I'm surprised he did that because Lupe is his guy and Lupe knew to drop the super duper rap style for more straight forward bars on his Royce diss.
